Lately I have been giving a go at animated gifs, further to a tutorial we had for the Master, where were asked to make a rough gif of a dancing character. My first attempt was really not good, I used a light box but still did not manage to get things right.
1st attempt with 3 images (wow this is so bad)

My second attempt is more successful I think. I simply drew the postures on a grid, and I found having the other poses next to each other rather than having one underneath much more helpful. The other big difference is that for the first attempt I made the gesture simple and therefore did not use any reference, while in Tomoko's version I used a video of myself dancing, and I think it looks much more believable. I think she dances a bit like Pam in The Office :)

I also wanted to try mixing different versions of the same image to create a wobbly line so that it looks more lively, which I have done on a lotus flower opening and closing with the sun.

I also decided to animate a painting I made and which is already sequential. It is not an animation of a movement per say but I think it looks cool anyway :)
